We train at Penlan with a pitch set up on one half of the pool with space for skills on the other.

The session is shared with Tawe Kayak Club with instructors available to help you learn new skills, or refine existing skills. The skills you’ll learn are applicable to all kayaking disciplines including Canoe Polo, White Water Kayaking, Slalom Kayaking, Freestyle Kayaking and Sprint Kayaking.

Spaces are limited for the session so you’ll need to book in advance, to book, contact John or Geraint. If you’re new, please register first so we have your details.

The pool is on the grounds of Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe in Penlan, Swansea with Plasmarl, Morriston, Penllergaer, Fforestfach, Cocket, Manselton, Cwmbwrla, Cocket a short drive away.

Our members travel from Carmarthen, Llanelli, Cardiff, Neath and beyond to attend this session.

Beginners

If you’re new to kayaking don’t worry, beginners are welcome at this session – register and someone will be in touch.

We have created a structured training program for beginners which will enable you to progress from complete beginner to a kayaking pro.

Intermediates & Advanced

We have a canoe polo pitch setup in the pool with two goals for games of canoe polo, at the beginning of the session there is a warmup, often combined with canoe polo drills.

We finish off the session with games of canoe polo with 2-4 teams competing against each other with mixed skill levels which enables everyone to improve.

Guests

We often have players from other clubs such as Swansea University Canoe Club, Dragon and Rhondda Paddlers joining us for Canoe Polo training sessions at Penlan. If you play polo, get in touch to see if there’s space for you to join us at our training sessions.

You can attend up to 3 sessions before you must become a member of the club, we have affiliate membership available for guests at a discounted rate if you have your own equipment.
